The capsules are made from bio-compostable plant plastic. This plastic degrades perfectly in industrial compost (you can dispose of them in your "packaging" garbage can when your plant has reached the end of its cycle). You can also repot your plants by leaving the capsule on, to avoid breaking the roots! The substrate inside the capsule is composed of peat, coconut fibres and nutrients (minerals) essential to plant growth. Most of the seeds are organic and come from French seed companies.
How do you get them started?
Place the seeds supplied in the bag in the 3 holes provided in the capsule. Insert the capsule into the float in the water-filled pot. Place the pot under the light. Now it's time to start growing!
How do I care for my plants?
Remember to top up the pot when the water level drops. The water level is indicated by the float: when the float gets close to the bottom of the pot, it's time to top up! Prune your plants when necessary (note: always leave 10 cm of stem at the base). All harvesting and pruning advice is available in the Prêt à Pousser app.
How long does it take to grow a plant?
It all depends on the plant. After a few days, the seed will germinate and give way to a small seedling which will grow a little each day. In general, you should allow around 5 weeks for mature herbs and salads, and 8 to 10 weeks for mini fruits, vegetables and flowers.
How long can I enjoy my plant and my crops?
You can enjoy your plants for 3 months or more, depending on the variety. When the plant is tired, you can dispose of the capsule in the compost or repot it and replace it with another.
Can I grow what I want in Prêt à Pousser capsules?
We offer over 60 varieties of plants in ready-made capsules to grow in your indoor gardens. However, if you want to grow your own seeds, we offer a "neutral" capsule, i.e. a capsule without seeds included. For these neutral capsules, in which you use seeds not supplied by Prêt à Pousser, we cannot however guarantee successful growth.
