Here are our harvesting tips for caring for your Prêt à Pousser herbs and spices.

Our care guide for Prêt à Pousser herbs

First of all, to ensure that your capsules grow in the best possible conditions, your floats must always have an adequate quantity of water.

Here is a picture of the ideal position of the floats:

Note also that you should never empty the water from your floats, even if it looks dirty. In fact, it contains the nutrients your plant needs to thrive. Simply refill them with tap water and leave the existing water. Also, remember to keep the light fixture 5cm away from your plants, because if it's set too high, your plants won't grow as well.

How do I harvest my indoor basil?

For bush-type plants with knots(our entire range of Basil, Mint, Tarragon, Thyme, Agastache, Cataire, Cresson de Fontaine, Cresson de Para, Estragon du Mexique, Hysope, Spearmint and Moroccan Mint...): cut the main stem between two knots. The stem will heal and new stems and leaves will grow from the last node. Avoid tearing off the leaves, as this is too traumatic for the plants.

For plants plants with stems and leaves (Flat and Curly Parsley, Coriander, Dill, Kale, Mizunas, Mustards, Pak Choi, Burnet, Arugula, Bloodroot ...): harvest the outermost whole stems first, leaving the inner stems to create other stems and leaves around them. Don't pull off just the leaves, as this will kill the plant.
